Pula, 20 June, 2017 – A press conference was held today at the Circolo – Italian Community, presenting news about the 64th Pula Film Festival
Festival director Gordana Restović opened the press conference in the presence of head of production Nataša Šimunov and head of IT support Sergej Turčinov. Jasmina Nina Kamber, Head of Administrative Department for Culture of the City of Pula, also attended the press conference.
After a welcome note and introduction, Festival director Gordana Restović said she was pleased to be able to announce news about the mobile app “Pula Film Festival”, information on ticket sale and interesting film from the PoPularna Pula programme.
The interactive news, which will certainly delight visitors of the 64th Pula Film Festival, is of great importance. We want to make sure our audience have a better and more functional way to follow the varied and abundant schedule, so they can have an even better experience of the Festival. The mobile app “Pula Film Festival” will provide just that, with a simple and quick way to find all information about the programme. Such a visually attractive way of communication provides a much higher quality of consuming festival content, and it is available to everyone starting today, Restović said.
Festival producer Nataša Šimunov presented PoPularna Pula, the competition programme of the biggest global hit films, which will be screened at the Arena. She also talked about the start of online ticket sale.
The film Spider-Man: Homecoming (director Jon Watts, USA) will be screened on Tuesday 18 July, 2017, and Despicable Me 3 (directors Kyle Balda, Pierre Coffin, USA, France), for the youngest ones, will be screened on Saturday 22 July, 2017. PoPularnaPula guarantees a good time to all visitors. It is our pleasure and we are proud to be able to announce the Croatian premiere of the filmValerian and the City of a Thousand Planets (director Luc Besson, France, USA), which will be screened on Saturday 22 July, 2017, Šimunov said.
Starting today, 20 June, 2017, festival tickets can be purchased online.
From 8 July to 22 July, 2017, tickets can be purchased at Info Point on Giardini sale point, from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Also available are passes and souvenirs. Tickets can also be purchased in front of the Arena, from 15 July to 22 July, 2017, before the screenings, from 6 p.m. to 12 a.m. At all festival sale points, tickets can be purchased only in cash, while online purchase can only be made by debit and credit cards (American Express®, MasterCard®, Visa, Diners, Maestro). Tickets for single festival evenings in the Arena are 25.00 HRK, and sets of tickets for all evenings in the Arena are 150,00 HRK. Pula Film Festival is once again offering discounts on tickets. Friends of the Festival - students (who need to provide their ‘indeks’ as proof) can purchase passes for 50.00 HRK, while pensioners (who need to provide their pension slip as proof) can purchase passes at 30.00 HRK, Nataša Šimunov said.
It was also noted that screenings are free at locations Valli Cinema, Istrian National Theatre and Cinema by the Sea - Ambrela Beach.
Sergej Turčinov brought the press conference to a close, thanking the developers from Syntax and Codecraft who have worked on the “Pula Film Festival” mobile app. All of the capabilities of the official mobile app of the 64th Pula Film Festival were presented via animation on a TV screen.
The importance of the app is certainly in its functionality and in the availability of news, as well as access to the detailed programme. Using the interactive bar provides information on all locations and it also links to the Festival’s social networks. It offers the possibility of buying tickets, voting for favourite films screened in the Arena, and with previous registration, the user is automatically included in the prize draw to win HT Samsung tablet tab 3, Samsung TV, or Julius Meinl coffee machine.
