It is with great pleasure that we give our confidence, as is already a tradition, to the Sonda Studio, who specialise in design and communication, and who also design the promotional communication concepts of the Pula Film Festival. These concepts are built on the festival’s visual identity, conceived around the slogan “Film under the stars”, where stars are represented by dots as the fundamental graphic building block of identity.
The Pula Arena is the largest open-air cinema in Croatia, and this alone makes the experience of the film and the emotions it carries over even more intense, seeing how it is shared with a big audience, and the films are seen on the big screen. The campaign saw use of all advertising areas as a tool to directly communicate to the user how many times larger the advertising area needs to be imagined in order to grasp the size of the film screen in the Arena - it is 19.10x8.90 m in size, with some 5,000 people sitting in front of it, sharing their emotions. Each of the advertising areas communicates only a fragment of the picture, and to see one hundred percent of the picture and one hundred percent of emotion, you are invited to the Arena July 15 through July 22, 2017.
The authors of this year’s campaign, Sean Poropat and Jelena Fiškuš from Sonda Studio presented this year’s communication concept by using the size of the film screen in the Pula Arena as a symbol of people coming together, of emotions, and of sharing emotions with a large number of people, encapsulating the very spirit of the Festival.
The communication concept is presented as a combination of thoughtful details which make up an image of the event, evoking emotion through love, intensity, passion and laughter as the impressive force of the experience, as a fresh and friendly openness when meeting other people. We can conclude that the spirit and the character of the Festival walk along the streets, providing information that travels through the town. It has long been confirmed that the Pula Film Festival has a strong influence on thousands of visitors who are attracted by the unique setting, and the quality and values that the Festival offers and who contribute to the success and an envious perspective year after year.
Screening films at the largest open-air cinema leaves nobody indifferent - the large audience and the setting itself intensify every emotion, creating a one of a kind experience. It is therefore the way we love, fear, anticipate or laugh out loud together, under the stars and with the stars.
