VALLI CINEMA
The poster, as one of the oldest media of graphic design, and with it mass communication, has stood the test of time, keeping its reputation of prestigious media expression. With this in mind, students of the Department of graphic design of Pula’s School of Applied Arts and Design have made a range of film posters. This practice was characteristic of Poland, where for years, the most successful and famous designers created local versions of film posters for foreign films, often more imaginative and intriguing than the original. The students used various means, from deliberate communication of words and images, through funny montage interventions, to more complex and inventive visual systems. All film posters are also marked with skilful use of typography. These posters are characterised by the youth and curiosity of the authors, and are therefore equally courageous and unexpected in their design.
