What is Balthazar’s workshop?
The traditional Professor Balthazar’s Adventure Laboratory is a film workshop, which, for the 13th time this summer, will open its doors to a new generation of young animated film fans. We welcome all youngsters aged 7 to 12 who are looking for new things, experimenting, and exciting film ventures.
What can you expect from the workshop?
The workshop is designed as a one-week programme where children will be introduced to the techniques of making and producing animated film. All of the segments of this process are elaborated: developing a story, developing the script, creating characters and their personalities, the basics of animation and production. A part of the introduction will be dedicated to classic animation, and simple and fun exercises to understand the basic principles and rules of animation, such as squash & stretch, etc.
When and where?
Circolo - Italian Community Pula (grand hall, ground floor) from 12 July to 20 July, 2017 (excluding Saturday, 15 July and Sunday, 16 July, 2017).
When is the deadline for applications and the number of participants?
Applications are open until 28 June, 2017 or until all places are filled. The number of adventurers is limited to 30, in two groups of 15 participants, and dates will be filled in the order in which the applications have been received. Should all free places be filled before the set closing date, applications received after that time will not be considered. After applications close, you will receive all the information needed.
How can I apply and how much is the attendance fee?
You can apply by using an online application form on the website of Pula Film Festival. The attendance fee is 400 HRK, and 300 HRK for each additional child from the same family.

The premiere of the film and the diploma awarding ceremony will be held on Saturday, 22 July at the Istrian National Theatre - City Theatre Pula. We invite all parents, guardians, friends, brothers and sisters to participate in this event.
