Role of international cooperation and festivals in film promotion and distribution
Lecturer: Jelka Stergel, head of international relations and director of Festival of Slovenian Film
One of the very important issues in marketing audiovisual projects is the international aspect of their promotion, and especially their festival life. Because of all of the specificities of today’s audiovisual market in our region and in Europe, it is important to design smart strategies for international promotion and festival distribution, and to consider the social, economic and time components that affect promotion and distribution.
The issue of international cooperation is very important, in the aspect of pre-production and production, as well as post-production, where international relations of (co-)producers, established to support the life of the film after its premiere, are key for a more successful reception of audiovisual projects by the audience.
Pula Film Festival welcomes Jelka Stergel, head of international relations and director of Festival of Slovenian Film, who has a lot of experience and expertise, and who will share her thoughts and advice on the role of international cooperation and festivals in the promotion and distribution of independent European film.
NOTE: The lecture will be given in Croatian.
