Film posters and the other hundred or so things

Graphic design for film is not just film posters. A large team works on the promotion of a film: producers, public relations experts, trailer editors, distributers, sales agents, cinemas, and visual communications designers. Graphic design is a tool used in all phases of film production, from the presentation of project development, to promotion during filming, continuous promotion on social networks, festival promotion, support to sales agents, cinema distribution, and VOD and TV promotion. Using some twenty feature fictions films we have created designs for, we will talk about what is designed in which phase of film production, and why it is important to have systematic and continuous visual promotion.
