Popular themes and subjects in European student film

The films that students work in during their education are extremely important, for several reasons. Along with fostering new and innovative aesthetics, of course, student film is a reflection of creative collaboration, a result of the synergy of future film professionals - the people that the future of a country’s cinematography depends on. It is precisely for this reason that it is interesting to compare the themes and aesthetics that young filmmakers foster, as it is these themes and aesthetics that reveal the answer to the question of what kind of film future we are to expect. We welcome GEETC president Bert Beyens, who is going to talk about his thinking and perception of the themes and subjects popular in recent European student film.
