Ottoman-occupied Bulgaria in the 19th century. Young Roumena leaves her family to become the leader of a guerrilla gang fighting against the invaders. As she struggles to reconcile her roles of a warrior and mother, Roumenafinds herself in conflict with her comrades.

Zornitsa Sophia (1972) graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Sofia. Her first film Mila s Marsa (2005) has won numerous awards. She has directed the feature film Prognoza (2009) and several documentaries.
