Since the arrival of the new teacher, Marie Drazděchová, to a Bratislava suburban school in the year of 1983, life has turned upside down for students and parents. Jan Hřebejk (1967) studied screenwriting at Prague’s FAMU. His film Divided We Fall (2000), was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. He won numerous prizes at international festivals including the Jury Award at the Karlovy Vary Festival for his film Beauty in Trouble (2006).
